Many carriers all over the world will network lock iPhones.

 

Step 1: You will need to contact your carrier to unlock your device. You can usually call them or request your device unlock online. 

You will need an identification number for your phone, called the IMEI, which can be obtained by dialling *#06#

 

Step 2: Backup and restore on iTunes.

After unlocking it with your carrier, please perform a Backup and Restore for your phone on iTunes. For the unlocking process to be complete, this step must be done. Please ensure that you have a SIM that is different from your original carrier inserted, connect the iPhone to iTunes, click on “Backup this iPhone”, and then “Restore iPhone”.

Once both steps have been done, you will receive a notification from iTunes "Congratulations, your phone has been unlocked"

 

Step 3: Restart your device by holding the home button and top lock button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. This will restart your device and when it is switched back on your iPhone should now be unlocked. 

To unlock a device your carrier may charge an unlocking fee. This will depend from carrier to carrier and device to device. You should call your carrier to confirm the charges.

Note: If your device is network locked, this means that your device cannot accept any SIM that is not your current carriers. Your Global SIM will not work in a locked phone.

No, once your mobile or tablet is unlocked it means that it is open to use any SIM including your current carrier. You will only need to unlock your mobile once.

Please contact your carrier directly and they will be able to assist you with unlocking your device. You will most likely be asked to provide an IMEI number, which can be obtained by dialling * # 0 6 # on your mobile.

Please note that your carrier may charge a fee for unlocking your handset and the unlocking time can vary. It is best to check if your phone is unlocked prior to your departure to avoid issues overseas. 

Once you have inserted your Cover-More Global SIM, if you do not pick up a carrier after several minutes, your mobile device may be network locked. Please call your carrier to unlock the mobile device.

Alternatively, if your mobile device displays any of the following messages, your phone may be locked:
- Network locked
- No SIM inserted
- SOS only
- Activation Required
- Select a Wi-Fi Network

Please call your carrier to unlock your mobile device.

If you have an iPhone, your mobile is most likely locked. You can check this by going to Settings > Phone > Scroll to bottom. If the last thing displayed on your Phone Settings is a carrier name, it is locked to that network.
